Our HILBERT engine testbed acts as a technology demonstrator for our novel thermodynamic cycle. Protolaunch has in-house expertise with design for manufacture and particularly for designing for metal additive manufacturing. Our team has successfully delivered multiple hot-fire test campaigns at the Westcott test site.
Propellant Delivery & Electronic Control Systems
Supporting infrastructure has proved crucial in experimental test campaigns and this has fueled the development of multiple in-house fluidics and control systems for datalogging, cold-flow and hot-fire testing.
Protolaunch has delivered multiple bespoke electronic control units and propellant delivery projects for external customers.
Thermodynamic Simulation & Optimisation
Protolaunch have developed a suite of in-house thermofluid simulation and optimistaion tools called ProtoSim. The package has particular capability in modelling two-phase flows and system-level optimisations. Protolaunch has conducted a major computational study utilising this tool in collaboration with the European Space Agency.
